I've been being pressured to make a facebook app for prisonblock. Who here actually uses FB and would find it useful? It wouldn't take priority or anything, but just curious what others think?

I use facebook, the app would probably make it easier for you to get people to join as I find myself randomly installing APPs all the time. It's basically free advertising for you.

True, but would it be QUALITY players? I prefer quality over quantity myself.

I'm also a little worried that being "inside" FB would degrade the quality of the game some.

That's a call for you to make as a game designer. I honestly do not know what facebook's capabilities are.

As for the quality of players filtering in from the depths of FB Hell, we might brainstorm some formulas for troll repellant. I'm not exactly sure how bad they will be, though. I mean, even your casual don't-care-to-talk-just-click-and-kill gamer still won't have too much of an impact on the quality of fun for other players.

You would need to consider recruiting moderators to handle harassment complaints and such as the playerbase increases, but I'm sure you already thought about that one. Might also want to draft up some sort of EULA now that money is involved. If theres a way to take advantage of you, someone will try to.

fb is easily one of the most widely used web nowadays and for having ur app in there i would guarantee there will be an influx of players comin in...regarding of quality players u cant expect to know where to find these ppl, puttin ur app in fb would no doubt attract more players be it quality or quantity. not to mention the advertising fee u will receive (if any?)

for ppl who doesnt play the game for lets say 3 months, lets freeze or delete the account for keeping the database low. and how u define quality anyway? i'd say ppl that are active are pretty worthwhile to keep...those who dont, i dont mind saying goodbye

That's exactly how I define quality. Also, members who don't spam/troll the messageboards or harrass other players. It's a prison game sure, but I'm trying to keep the atmosphere cool

Also i think people who are unactive for 6 months should be frozen, btw is there a Holidaymode so when we go away we dont get frozen or something.

i use FB and think its a bad idea to put it on FB, it would become just another app on just another game lol being this way leaves u to perfect it while population slowly grows, think about avertising there tho xD
