Sorry for not giving this a response. A lot of players privately PMd me, referencing this thread with the issue. Apparently it's gotten worse lately, or more people are exploiting this issue.

I strongly advise against exploiting this. It's a known bug, and it's something we may have trouble dealing with. So, from this point forward, anybody knowingly exploiting this mechanic will wish they hadn't.

If you think you're the victim of attacks like this, let me know.

If I understand this correctly, it isn't a user-based issue, It's the server that is failing to communicate quickly enough. It seems that multiple requests are sent before the server can respond to the change.

One potential fix that could also slow gameplay a bit would be to have multiple requests sent, one to check if an action has been taken, where the status would be updated to pending if not, preventing others from making the same request. Then a second request would be sent, containing the actual nature of the request. This second request would basically do the same thing that the current system's request does. The issue with this, however, is that such a system would be fucked over anyway, as two people making the same first request would be taken as a single request, both having passed the first barrier. It could decrease the response time, but the significance would likely be blocked by the fact that the server is now dealing with twice the amount of requests.

The only "foolproof" plan would be to have the server increment the request count on an item every time a request is made, the second request would check to see if the request has been made more than once. If so, all requests would be canceled. If not, a third request containing information regarding the nature of the action would be sent and the process would end. The issue with this lies in the cancellation. So if two people tried to raid someone at the same time, neither could raid, and a third player would succeed. In this case, the server COULD randomly choose a player to win, which would likely be more effective and fair. Still, the server is taking three times the number of requests it does now.

It's almost like this issue.

Originally posted by babylugo I have a question what if someone did it by mistake for example what if my phone or laptop gets slow and i double click it so it goes by fast and that happens do they get punished as well?

Edit my phone loads slow at times so i have to double click to do anything

To do anything at all really

This isn't how the bug works. And it's obvious when people are intentionally exploiting it.

If it continues to happen, do inform me.

If I find out you did not inform me. Well. Let's not find out what happens.

Hugs to everyone!

I think it would be far more fun for all to strip protected status from DemOlition's stuff, and then shout his combo in shoutbox myself.

Sadly, it wouldn't be a nice thing to do.

And I'm told I have to be nice.
