I think this is a bug if it was meant that way then sorry I was not aware.

When I go to the surgeon page, I can't see my current avatar and just modify parts I want to change. I have to create a whole new one. If I create a new one everything works fine and there is not a problem.

Currently using Chrome:

Version : 25.0.1364.160 

w/ integrated flash

I am on Ubuntu (linux) version 12.04.....

Tell me if you need any more info

You can try hard-refreshing (hold shift, click refresh) and/or clearing cache. I doubt this will help, since you said your issue is solved after creating a new avatar. But it's worth a shot.

Unfortunately I tried both hard-refreshing and clearing cache and the problem persists
