Americans take extreme positions on all sorts of shit. In NC, there's a lot of hate between Duke and Chapel Hill fans, even though the teams are both pretty nice.

When I was growing up, the ford-chevy feud was less about trucks, more about Camaro vs. mustang.

People hate people over religion, race, age, hobby, school, state, salary, so why not vehicle?
