Can you double up on the effects of cell items. Like.. um..
Self-Defense Books
DEF: +5%
NRV: +1%
Does that mean that if I place 2 of these in my cell it would be +10% Defense, and +2% Nerve? Just wondering before I make the investment.

Yes, but it's done on the base amount.
So if you have 100 defense, it goes:
100 + 5% of 100 = 105
105 + 5% of 100 = 110;
and NOT
100 + 5% of 100 = 105
105 + 5% of 105 = 110.5;
So the % adding always goes on your base stat and not the previously altered stat of another amenity
