Apparently this isn't obvious... but think about it... if someone spams you, then reposting their spam message in a public forum is no better than the original spam as you're just posting the message to all other people.

Use the contact button to report spammers (as most do already). Those who don't will be penalized for effectively spreading spam in the forums.
