I've re-read your post several times, it doesn't make any sense.  I'm referring to the business creators, not the factory workers.  Obama has basically declared war on the rich.  Steve Jobs had a great idea and put in a TON of effort, time, stress, and heartache to build and develop what is one of the most love brands in this country.  Fast forward to now, someone has a great idea, is it even worth the effort if the government is going to stand there and take upwards of 50+% of what you earn?  What's the fucking point of working that hard, taking all that risk.  If you save up $30,000 to start your business and lose all of it because it didn't pan out, the government isn't going to be there and refund your risk...

Basically I was comparing your bolded section with my bolded section, and saying it seemed like you were criticizing the entire idea of taxation.

Entrepreneurs are risk-takers; they occasionally succeed and they often fail. But the payoff for success is typically higher than the losses due to failure. It evens out in the end.

And why are you saying 50% will be taxed? Who said anything about taxing 50%? If you make a shitload of money, why does a small tax increase matter? And remember, the commonly-debated taxation is based on income not earnings.

In all honesty, my ideal country would have a flat tax, not a tax percentage, just a certain amount of money a year to fund governmental operations, then the budget for national security would be determined otherwise. One reason taxes are so high is because senators, representatives, and other high-ranking government employees get paid a lot of money. I believe the pay was originally established to discourage corporate pay-offs; if you get caught, you lose a job that pays well, so it isn't worth the risk (or at least that was the idea).

However, when was the last time you heard of a member of Congress who was kicked out for these charges? And do you honestly think that the Senate and House are corruption-free?

I think he pulled it from the Romney ad where he said he would fight back against the production monopoly that China has over the U.S. Which is stupid, because that implies that he would either encourage slave labor in the U.S. or that he would decrease the profit margins of the companies funding him. Now, if he had to choose, I think everyone in this thread knows which he would go with.
