Respected Prisoner cash - can it go over max deposit?

I've looked around the forums but can't find an answer.
I am already over my max deposit via interest and need to buy a respected prisoner upgrade. Will the money from the respected upgrade go into my bank whilst it's above the deposit limit? Or will it just go to hand?
