I think this statment is the problem with the way we look at Mufasa.......we cant do shit from the er?? He is not one of us he is the Warden and he makes the "rules" so i dont see how he can "cheat" as such...

see if mu couldn't leave prisons from er we as SD inmates could have held him in there and raided his unprotected goods

edit and I think mu don't let us go to LA cause then he don't have his own prison to hide in
