Ah come on now Steve, you won't give me a brownie point for my Irish ancestors being slaves to England? Between 1641 and 1652 (11 years) 500,000 Irish were killed and 300,000 were sold. That's just one instance there were a few more instances between that time and the civil war. Though during the civil war the Irish were actually treated "IN SOME CASES" worse than actual African American slaves seeing as they were on a contract and not owned.

No doubt about it though, slavery, racism, rape, murder etc etc etc is simply horrible. To use it as a crutch on "well it made me who I am" is only empowering the negativity. Hell, we all (well most of us) had a fucked up childhood, those who have a strong will, will be able to choose who they become, those who have a weak will let their environment dictate their lives.

lol, i'm not about to get into a racism fight on here, but Eastside saying that we're different now because his ancestors were forced here through slavery is exactly the kind of shit that promotes it. Me personally, i'm all about equal opportunity. Say something stupid and i'll hate you just as much as the next guy. I got enough real issues than to worry about not liking someone cuz of the color of his skin or the way he talks.
