No not horrible... at all... just wise...

You're not an horrible person becausf your beliefs... If you think your money is mis-used, then, you are doing well. Would you lend 20$ to somone you dont trust?

For example, those events they have on tv trying to raise money. The most recent I recall was the Haiti relief one they had after that earth quake. Yes they were affected extremely bad but not long after that a couple other places had earthquakes just as bad and there was nothing about sending relief to them. I guess the help goes to where it most importantly should be but when you donate to large causes like that there is no guarantee that country or the right people are getting the help that is needed.

I don't trust UNICEF...... bunch of crooks... for every dollar they make, how many cents actually get to Africa...... However I do donate to support community programs and hospital research when I am asked (like when I buy something) ... I donated for the Hurricane Katrina and Haiti relief funds... but I can't donate as much as I would deem worthy, since I'm quite the poor bum.

Maybe not all the money gets there, but I keep a little prayer anyhow....

I couldn't pledge a donation to the Terry Fox memorial run, but I did participate....

See my donations to reliefs like Haiti are merely through blood donations and things like that. I am quite poor and unfortunately could not donate money but see my thoughts for donating to the Haiti relief were hesitant because shortly after that happened a couple other countries were hit with an earthquake in which they were affected. If I knew that the money was being used to help all countries that had something like that happen whether they are rich countries or not then I would feel better about donating. Hurricane Katrina though I did donate through my cell phone bill. Yes the USA is a rich country but there are still people affected by that happening and for some reason I felt as if that donation went to the proper cause that it should have gone to.

There's a local Charity here where i live called Children's Miracle Network, I Donate to that every year because one of my friends from High School got diagnosed with Cancer and his family at the time had no insurance and with Childrens Miracle Network all the proceeds go to the Hospital he was staying in to help the families when they really need it..

I don't believe it is about quantity... i believe it is about heart... and knowing that someone gives a damn... to give something to support you... is a special thing...

Reason I was asking is because I have a 1 page paper to write on a topic of my choice and I was thinking something along the lines of this topic (possibly) only problem is I don't think prisonblock.com would be a credible source for information lol

Wow thats interesting... I must say when I was a kid I would give money to whoever didnt give a fuck... my bro would get so mad at me cuz I would give money to who ever... But now that Im older and wiser Im very concerned of where my money goes... My grandmother runs a homelss shelter so I see shit like that everyday ppl who dont have shit and no where to go... So it just depends on who it is and where the money acutally goes to...
