There used to be a level limit on attacking and mugging and people bitched about that. So we removed the level limit, and we spread the prisons out a bit more. This solution would continue working, except that we don't have enough high level players to create this spread.

This leaves us in a lovely catch-22. People don't want to level up because they get pummeled when they enter SD. And we can't solve this issue, because we don't have enough high level players to fill new prisons.

The "people with pissy ass stats mugging them" system was created to counterbalance the high level players crushing those with lower stats. I agree that high level players deserve to run the shit due to their dedication to the game. But there has to be some way to do a tiny bit of damage to them, otherwise a high level player has absolutely nothing to fear.

you can raid them and the miraculous mugs happen to me about 25% of the mug i get, put hits out to get them attacked... most high levels are in gangs, and most of the times when they do something the weakest members of their gang get hit until the problems solved

good point.... BUT..... the people with high stats who have nothing to fear are the ones that are in SD as all the other people with high stats at the top of their prison are runners/sitters, so therefore anyone attempting to mug a high level SD player is 99% of the time going to be an SD player and in SD as we all know..... exp is unlimited..... so they shouldnt fear getting exp from miracle mugs as their exp is unlimited anyway?

edit: so there should surely be no harm in putting some exp in for a miracle mug

as stated in a previous post ,then i train but only get to level 6 ,then only level 9-3 would be able to mug me....... a better example of this is saaaaaay shafz_9 trained to sd on his train he got to lvl 17 then only level 14 to lvl 20 would be able to attack him but this would work both ways shafz couldnt mug any1 above level 20 or below 14 ,its beneficail to new inmates and veterans becus new inmates could train to counter balance ppl attacking them, and veterans wouldnt get pissed off with people with pissy ass stats mugging them,i also think this would encourage gangs or solo players to be more interactive with other players and train up new recruits faster there for spreading the prison population and creating long lasting players

I reckon u can create copies of prisons from their codings and then create sub prisons where people are allowed to train for x hours (more favs u pay the longer) thatll enable u to stay safe from the attakrrs....oh and i quoted this cos it had my name

If this new prison to be payback for putting the time in, then I would suggest the following:

1. Prison is for lvl's 25 and up.

2. All amenities are available for a one time purchase, IE you can buy 5 bags of coal, 5 toilets, you can buy as many of the amenities are you area allowed to place in your cell, if you can place one trophy in your cell, you should be able to buy one of them, and then you've reached the limit on that amen you can't buy another - but ALL amenities in the game should be available there to be purchased one time at a reasonable rate.

3. Prison should not be a permanent home, rather a utopia we can travel to when we feel like it, we should still be able to mingle in SD - I believe this is one answer to the problem of there not being enough people to fill a new prison.

4. Any new amenity that comes out is added to the new prison's buy list, and each inmate who can get to that prison can buy one and only one of them. This would solve the problem where rare movies are not available, and I believe a lot of the griping about joe always being in NJ or wherever comes from.

If that wouldn't give players an incentive to level up, I don't know what would.

It would be the club Fed of prisons.

I know everyone loves the idea of a perfect utopia, but, guys, it's prison.... And there are some problems I see with the idea: obviously your cell will not be big enough to hold every single sexy item that exists, so, the rest of them will get sold, possibly even to low-level players, defeating the purpose.

Anyway, I think I have enough data for a bit. I'm gonna close this thread and do some pondering.

In the mean time: this is your official warning to LEVEL UP. We are definitely going to be considering ways to sweeten the pot for people in AZ and SD. Official announcements on that will be later to come.

Hi all. Reopening this thread to make a brief announcement, and mention some stuff that came to my attention in the past week or so.

1. As an experiment, Energy Drinks are on sale in Putnam. This shouldn't affect training heavily, since Red Bulls were already there, but will hopefully ease concerns about people not leveling in to there for fear of losing access to what has become the game's secondary currency. If this experiment doesn't work they'll go away. They are being sold at AZ prices.

2. You may have noticed Bootleg Joe was only out in AZ and SD yesterday. Get used to that. "Want better access to Bootlegs so I can PayPal" isn't a great reason to not play the game.

3. People are still asking me about miracle muggings. As KingTommy has mentioned, since they're the only recourse a lower-level player has against a higher-level one, they aren't going away. Outside of the open-yard events like this, they really won't be a big problem for big dogs, though. That's all I'll say on this for now.

4. People are also asking me "when the new prison??" If you asked that, you obviously haven't read the thread carefully, but I'll summarize. Right now, there are no official plans for a new prison, unless we have a high enough population in higher prisons, which we don't.

We debated adding XP, but decided against it, because we really do feel the mugs should be a legitimate recourse for a lower level player to do something to a high level player. Outside of the open-yard events like this, they really won't be a big problem for big dogs, though.
