Happy Memorial Day!
The stats all seem to add to somewhere between 3998 and 4000. Based on my stats, it seems that your in-yard stats are 1000(1+stat/totalstats)
It might be better if the stats were 1000(.5+.5*stat^(1/4)) or something similar. That would make someone with stats at 1 begin with 1k stats, where someone with 10k would get 5.5k. And someone with 100mil would get 505k stats.
The one getting fucked by something sharp is you, and that something is my wit.
Yes.
That is what arrogance sounds like coming from an external source.
There was almost a decent discussion here. But it degenerated quickly.
I'd like to point out, Koryn, that dayna was right about the yard change. At one point, you could mug in Louisiana, and yes, we did change it a mere 19 hours later once we discovered the potential damage that would cause.
But dayna doesn't like this change. dayna used to always win fights by mugging people, and then attacking them. The initial mug would remove hp/stam, thus giving her the upper hand. So now that she can't instant-win 100% of the time, the yard combat in Louisiana is considered broken.
In reality, we fixed it so it functions as originally intended. You get 1,000 stats in each combat category (just to help normalize the damage a bit), plus 1,000 stat points divided across str/def/spd, based on the ratios of your actual str/def/spd normally.
We thought this would encourage players to play with their cells to find their favorite ratio for combat and make the yard more interesting, less on-sided. But, surprise! people don't want strategy. They just want easy KOs.
[EDIT]: We still like the results we're seeing (except for the "this game is broken, you cater to level squatters" part). And we still plan to use this mechanic for Fight Night.
Fight Night will likely only be available in higher prisons, just to prove to you guys that we love the veterans. Seriously, we really do. We just don't like being told that a mechanic is broken, when, in reality, you don't understand it and/or it's not to your preference.

Well I would apologize for being wrong but I think the last "fuck you" kind of ruined that. Still, though, if there were some kind of scaling, even a marginal amount. Perhaps 50-100 per level distributed across the three stats. If this was a 1-day event that you put very little work into I would understand testing out one facet of a new addition independent of other factors, but 3 days seems to be a bit much for such a large gameplay introduction.
Also, I'd like to point out that the infirmary crime doesn't work. I'm sure that's intentional, but the link is still there.
I'm not opposed to minor scaling. Scaling might be possible. If it were marginal, it could be a % boost to your stats based on your level.
So a level 5 would get 5% stat boosts across the board. A level 30 would get 30%. This wouldn't mean an instant win for all high levels (again, we do NOT want instant wins for the big dogs) but it would give them an edge.
5% stat boost on total stats (1400) or percentage taken from regular stats (400)? If you just made the base high enough you wouldn't need to worry about coming up with something to keep the scaling even.
thnx staff... 05/25/2013 10:41amDemOlition [DR] tried to mug you, but couldn't catch you!

JUst a guess, because it obviously hasn't been tested yet, but percentage gains would likely include that base 1000.

hmmm kinda goes back to the fact that even the high levels will bitch and moan when they dont get things their way (Lord_DOng)

hmm sorry i voice my concerns, should i just sit in the shoutbox all day and wait for staff to custom design stuff around me, that seems to be the way of the future! btw why is it you dont gain much exp lol fucking level squatters
