If u are overcharing using ur criming money for stock, no1 will buy your things, people will buy them from the warden and resale them, leaving u with alot of useless stock, the onlty option u have would be to reduce ur prices.

Well thats the thing, there is a major discrepancy between the cost of favors and the prices in the wardens office. Say for instance an old toilet, that costs 22 favors, in order to buy one you would have to spend, a little less then $5 in favors in real money to get from the warden, while I have seen 2 or more of them go in paypal auctions for about $2. If you gave someone game cash items to buy you 30 favors, it would cost you im guessing somewhere between 2-3million yet the current price of toilets is somewhere around 500k on the market which would take some people 5minutes or less of criming. So it wouldnt make much sense to do anything but buy them off the open market

yes but by the time u get to the stage in the game were u can effeciently crime 500k you allready have 5 old toilets,so its not a good example.

also i would like to add , that the more the top players crime, the more runs they need , which makes more business for the lower level players and helps them advance quicker

Well yeah you *should* already have 5 toilets, but they were like 200k a a month ago, and prices keep going up and you see less and less of them on the market so its not as easy to get them now starting out as it was for some of us.

And I agree with your 2nd point, although as I said before paypal is becoming more and more commonly used for ammenities trading which makes game cash and items more useless as currency, and I believe it is driving the prices up, although I could be wrong I never claimed to be an economist

I agree with Penny... i wanna add my co-sign... i ain't reading the whole thread... as i am sick of the whole damn arguement... it goes around and around and in reality... i find some of the practices around the selling of amens... to be unethical and destroying of the game... and to be honest... i think it adds considerably to the aggression and angst around the place... particularly the forums... which straight up... makes the game frustrating and maddening...

The question i have... as i am not well versed in gaming culture... is what happens in other games... is this a common theme... or is it just something that has occurred here... ??? This is something that i would very much like to know...

Another point is.... that if you don't like someone's practice... don't buy, sell, trade with them... plain and simple... use the control that we have as a community... The Warden will do as he see's fit... and so he should... but we too have some control...

And one last point before i go to bed... the angst and frustration that this stuff causes around here... particularly on the forum... is so unpleasant... I LOVE THIS GAME... there is no denying it... but honestly... it is getting to the point where i could sell my items for paypal and leave... perhaps instead.... maybe some people could look at exploring what works as a good cell set up without some of these... hard to obtain items... i am prepared to look at it if there were people interested... in spending some time working on it... damn... i got not much else to do other than to read bitching... complaining... and sorry retarded arguing... (which i know i have ended up involved in at times)... Maybe then... we will have less angst... and more fun... and then these people won't find it viable to charge that much money... a beautiful self perpetuating pleasure cycle...

100% true. but i think also the high prices are caused by the reduction of our daily favours.

I would quit the game if there was nothing rare. Good point Eazy, its not farmville. Its good to chase those hard to find amenities and the exclusiveness of items is good.

there would be no amenities on the market place without the people that spend real money.

Also if it wasn't for people that hoard or buy multiples of specials then there would be even less chance of people that don't buy favs getting them specials. If all the people that bought favs just bought enough of each item for themselves or there was a limit to what u could buy. Where would we be at now? I wouldn't have playboys, toilets, consoles.... And many others would be In the same boat.

This thread got way off track and imo is now a lot of ranting jealous people that can't get the good shit. We were making progress last night.

What I dont get is the ppl that are the most worked up about this ... already DO have good, rare amens... I had a serious plan that was working for me , but with the voting favs down to 2 a day , i can forget about scoring a bigger cell (maybe in 50 fuckin days) and god forbid a fire sale or a holiday comes around . So that leaves two options .... weekly lotto ? not likely to snag that bc i hang on to my daily favs like my nuts . or crime my ass off , but as the inflation has been sky rocketing (cost 20 mill in items for a clean toilet ?) ill be a lvl 21 with 1 clean toilet , a groundhog , no items and ass stats ... is it shitty , it is. anything I can do about it now ?
