In all honesty, notifications when other members are raided, etc might not be a bad idea. I'll ask vintral about it tomorrow. He's more knowledgeable about the system than I am, and I know he had some reservations as to why it should not be included.

Gangs are something that inmates have been wanting for a long time, and many already have unofficial gangs. This new system will give you something official, and something to build from the ground up.

Being in a gang offers all sorts of perks, including :

  • A ranking system
  • Mass mail
  • Gang shoutbox
  • Gang events - see when gang members are attacked, mugged, when new members join or leave

How do I unlock these awesome features for my gang?

Only the gang leader can do this. Under the Settings tab, the gang leader can unlock various gang features, add member slots, add ranks, and even change the gang name and tag.

We've heard a lot of really good suggestions from players, and trust me, we hear you. We already have an idea of future plans to implement for gangs, but feel free to throw your crazy ass ideas out there anyway if you simply can't help yourself.

whilst we throw out random bullshit sugestions.... how bout adding more features for gang vault like cash/favors or armor/weapons ?

We're still trying to figure out a way to allow users to deposit Favors that won't open a million more avenues through which people will exploit others.

Our primary concern is people who make gangs and say there's a 25 Favor cost to join. New users joins, pays the Favors, and is booted from the gang. We don't want to have to deal with that sort of thing.
