First of all, we all can not forget that segregation was not that long ago at all...the people that fought to keep it that way are the ones that's making the laws and running our citys. Their children are our bosses and our co workers and peers. Which is really scary because gays and lesbians got more rights in a shorter time than black people or women who are still fighting it. Look how fast they shut your shit down if you say anything derogatory against gays and lesbian...then listen to Bill oriely or don imus cross that line every time they speak. ( these are just examples, there are tons more)

those are 2 great examples of racists...but there are plenty of people that speak out against gays and lesbians also...and i think that community made more effective changes because there are many that became really succesful and then made changes that benefited their views...ive have never seen someone be white for 50 years and then all of a sudden say they are black...but there have been plenty of people that have said they were straight for years and then come out of the closet once they got in a position of power and made changes to benefit them....alot of it is just rich powerful people are in charge and they can fund who they want to run for office and they decide whats laws are written and the way society will work...they help their friends and family out to become succesful and try to hold everyone else down

damn that shit sparked up a good ole argument in here.... i wish i had the energy to throw up a few lines of what I personally think/believe but seems like most of you brought it up already, and howie I couldnt agree more on the good vs shitty lawyer thing, but it doesnt change the fact that the whole system is flawed, poor people are getting 20 plus depending on how the judges feel.. its all a systematical life-time theft created and adapted to control the people

no matter what though, no matter how blind/ignorant or even racist the judges are, stealing 15 years from the life of a homeless man who stole and returned $100 is crazy and cold beyond imagination.... im the last dude to show sympathy for someone who cant handle the reactions of their own actions, but this shit is something else..
